This past month I have started and continue five different challenges:
Week 1 – Drink 60 ounces of water daily
Week 2 – Eat a healthy breakfast
Week 3 – Smoke 15 or less cigarettes per day (a 50 % reduction)
Week 4 – Speak the word of God out loud several times a day
Week 5 – Brush and water pic/floss teeth every night
Change is difficult, even the small and positive changes. Even though the five challenges listed above are all small steps, I have really had to struggle with the fickle side of myself. I do not want to give up; I want to keep on keeping on until habit has replaced force.
I have had both easy and difficult days with the challenges, but I refuse to give up.
On a positive note, these small but positive challenges have changed my focus from the negative to the positive.
I am looking forward to the day that these small changes have taken hold and become a normal way of life. Until then I will keep on keeping on.
Even if you are not following along with the challenges I have set, I hope you are challenging yourself where you feel you need it the most. Even small changes can make a big difference.
Stay tuned for February’s challenges.
